Recycled Art! Using Recycled Paper

 When creating art, it is so important to be conscious of how we use our supplies, and the number one supply we use in art making is paper!  It is important we recycle as much paper as can.  Here are some facts about recycling paper:

- 40 percent of all waste going to landfills is paper.  Cutting down on paper waste will extend the lives of our landfills

- Newspapers can be recycled into egg cartons, game boards, new newspaper, gift boxes, animal bedding, insulation, and packing material.

- Office paper is recycled into paper towels, tissue paper, and toilet paper.

- Corrugated cardboard is created into new cardboard and cereal boxes.


One way we can recycle paper is by using it in our art work.  Let’s take a look at women from Uganda who use recycled paper to make beads as a way of making money for their families:
