In week 2 of Painting Basics and Beyond, we worked on putting together our mixed media landscape paintings. With our sky and ground papers dry, we were ready to put it all together!
First we started by learning scumbling or dry brushing. This is a great technique for making fluffy clouds and adding a bit a shading to the bottom of them.
We then learned about mixed media techniques and attached our sgraffito paper for land, along with other elements.
We were having so much fun making our art, that I did not get any pictures of the final products 🫣, plus we were working hard right up until the end of class scrambling to clean up (any other art teachers understand?). So you will just have to trust me that the students really enjoyed learning about adding mix media to their paintings!
