This past Sunday we had another fun meeting of our neighborhood creative club! This week we thought of an animal and created a wet on wet watercolor background and haiku poem about them.
First, we created our backgrounds using a wet on wet watercolor technique (it’s wet!). We also reviewed painting skills and keeping our paint brushes on their tippy toes:
Although it seems silly to paint with water first, it was fun to watch the colors explode using the wet on wet technique!
While we waited for our watercolors to dry, my co-teacher Emily taught the group how to write a Haiku poem using this video:
The kids got to writing and created some fabulous poems!
