Intro to Fiber Arts: K-2

 We started our Intro to Fiber Arts class with learning the basics of weaving!  Weaving is a great way to strengthen fingers for writing (and drawing of course!).  We used a half-circle loom to create a rainbow-shaped weaving and will turn our finished weavings into creatures.

We began by learning about what weaving is, how to weave, and some key vocablary words like weft and warp by watching the following video:

The students got a great start on their weavings and we will work on finishing them up next time! The room was just abuzz with getting yarn, sharing tips with neighbors, and excitement with how lovely their weavings were turning out. Everyone picked such unique color schemes.
