4K Process Art: Shapes

 This week in 4K Process Art, we focused on shapes!  We read one of my favorite books, Triangle by Mac Barnett, in shape series.  

We then looked at how artists use shapes in their work and were surprised at what we found! There were so many ways artists used shapes, and it was fun to find them all. 

We then were inspired to use shapes in our artwork.  I gave each student a recycled box painted white with a sheet of paper inside, and they were to think about what they could see through the shape holes.  Each student was allowed to choose their paint colors and artistic direction and they did a great job!  Process art focuses on the experience of creating art and trying new materials, and these 4Kers did just that!
