This week in preschool art and story time, we talked about sharing a meal with those you care about, and things we are thankful for with these two great books:
We had two felt-board activities (these are a hit!)
Turkey’s Feathers
Turkey wears his red feather, red feather, red feather,
Turkey wears his red feather all day long.
(Repeat with different colors)
Pumpkin Pie
5 little pumpkins on a vine (hold up 5 fingers)
5 little pumpkins that are mine (point to self)
I pull one off and then I sigh (sigh)
I can’t wait for pumpkin pie!
(Continue to count down)
No little pumpkins on a vine,
No little pumpkins that are mine,
But I don’t have to make a sigh,
Because it’s time for pumpkin pie!
We then rotated through four art-making stations which included:
Painting turkey feathers with forks:
Here is the set-up:
Making a placemat with clear contact paper and paper squares:
A Fall Sensory Bin:
And (not pictured), printed dot marker Turkey sheets to fill with tweezers and pom poms.
We are all ready for a great holiday weekend!
