This past week in 4K Process Art, we looked at lines! Straight, curvy, zig-zagged, all types of lines! We read this book, The Straight Line Wonder, by Meme Fox before beginning our project. It is an adorable story about 3 lines who are friends, until one starts acting crazy!
We then used lines to start our art, adding in color with super fancy chalk markers!
Finally, we used clear contact paper to draw on with sharpies, cut out, and stick on top of our drawings, which we could see right through the contact paper!
These young artists did a great job with their projects, and truly enjoy the process. These types of open-ended lessons are great for young artists because they help develop essential creative thinking skills by allowing them freedom to express themselves without concern over the outcome. It is so fun to see what they come up with each week with the freedom to create!
