There are a few important terms when it comes to learning weaving, the first is the term Loom. The loom is anything you weave on.
The second is Warp Threads. Warp threads are the threads that you weave over and under. In this example, my warp threads are this white string.
The Weft is any material that you weave with. In this example, my weft is the blue paper.
You can also think about weaving as an AB pattern:
When you start your second piece of weft, you will need to do the pattern backwards, or a B A pattern. You will know that you are weaving correctly by looking at the warp threads. If you see a warp thread on one piece of weft, you should not see it on the neighboring piece of weft.
Tada! My table is now a GIANT weaving! Thanks art friends!
